🎊 A BIRTHDAY PARTY IN A TAXI🎊

People say I have lived a lot of experiences. That’s what happens when you’ve been travelling for decades.

I think that one of the best gifts I can give my children is to travel with them.

When you travel, you experience things that are different to what happens where you live.

We live on the Costa del Sol, where a thousand things happen every day, I assure you

But there is nothing like leaving home to live all kinds of experiences.

In 2015 one of the artisans we work with invited us to his wedding in the Himalayas 🇮🇳

I wore a beautiful green sari and my son Roberto wore a golden silk kurta that looked great on him.

Here you can see us, hehehe

The wedding was awesome.

Nothing that resembles what we understand here as a wedding.

Everything was different.

Of course, we ate and drank.

And we danced 💃🏻🕺🏻

Those typical dances of the area, joined hands with other guests, and also modern Indian music in which everyone began to dismember as if they no longer had a skeleton. ….

We shared the happiness with the family of artisans and after a few more days in the area, watching the weaving on those handlooms that seemed to be thousands of years old and visiting the region, the day came to return home.

Just the day of Roberto’s birthday 🎂

I always wanted to organise cool parties for their birthdays, but that one got the upper hand:

When we thought the best was over and we were going home…we went to the airport to fly to New Delhi but fate had other plans for us:

The airport was closed and we had to hire a taxi to take us to New Delhi airport.

15 hours drive through the Himalayas.

Over mountains, curves, cliffs and potholes

A driver who seemed nice, but spoke hardly any English.

Anyway, we have no choice. We have to get there in time to fly to Madrid and if we wait for the airport to open when there is visibility in the Himalayas, we won’t make it.

So off we went…

Two hours into the journey we were stopped by the police. They made us get out of the taxi.

We don’t understand anything.

What’s going on?

They start searchng the driver.

They take something out of his pockets.

Wow

Hashish… 😱

What the hell ????

And now?

I don’t know if anything has terrified you to this extent….

Have you ever noticed that the ground opened up under your feet? Well, that’s when we were really scared.

We didn’t know how it would end… but after a while of discussions and shouting that we didn’t understand, and after emptying his pockets, the driver started the car again and we left.

God, what a scare!

It’s all over now.

Next time I’ll take him to Disneyland for his birthday…🎡

We only have 13 more hours in the car and then we have to leave on that flight home, which sometimes we really want to do, and that was one of them.

We went back to driving kilometres and more kilometres.

After 9 hours of driving, we stopped in a village where without eating or drinking, another driver got behind the wheel and we continued our journey …

At first we were a bit scared because we didn’t understand what they were trying to explain to us, but in the end we understood that it was just a matter of someone else driving us to the end of the journey.

We arrived at the airport “Indira Gandhi” only 3 hours before the flight to Madrid.

It was a different kind of holiday.

Unforgettable.

Like Luis Miguel’s song, a very important mexican singer

In a taxi 🚖

That’s what I always want to give my children: Experiences and that they know the world.

If you want adventures, you’ll get your money’s worth!

We arrived perfectly. With a flat butt and lots of things to tell,

And looking forward to coming back!

By the way…

What do these artisans do in the heart of the Himalayas? Well, they make really beautiful woollen shawls and scarves woven by handloom.

Do you want to see them?

These are the ones:

And we have them on sale because the season is ending and we are going to bring new models!

Hug,

Teresa  🌺

Pd: Every 27 November we remember him. How could we forget him!!!!
