Everything begins with totumo gourds, a type of calabash that grows on trees. Artisans patiently cut them until they take the shape of a small whale. Then they paint them and decorate them with ribbons and silks that evoke the movement and colors of the sea.

This is how these small whale earrings are born, handmade.
